Austrade’s General Manager for Europe Peter Horn outlined Austrade’s engagement with business both in Australia and via the different posts across Europe, and the agency’s management of several key initiatives including the International Freight Assistance Mechanism (IFAM), the Export Market Development Grant (EMDG)

b. Peter Horn underlined Australia’s commitment to global free trade and openness to investment, highlighting in particular joint efforts with the EU and other partners to preserve a multilateral trading system, in addition to ongoing bilateral negotiations. European companies will remain at the forefront of productive FDI driving the recovery in Australia, with Austrade currently working in particular on eight national investment priorities, including resources, energy, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, agri-food, health, infrastructure (including tourism) and the circular economy, where European expertise will be crucial to build national capability.
